Hi there! My name is Dave Vasquez and I’ve been animating professionally for about 8 years. I got my start in video games working for Maxis and then Electronic Arts where I animated on many successful titles for the Sims franchise. Next, I made the switch to feature films where I began working as an animator for Rhythm & Hues Studios in Los Angeles. Presently, I am an animator at Sony Pictures Imageworks in Culver City.

My interest in filmmaking began at an early age with a Super 8 camera given to me by my parents. After graduating from UCLA Film School and working in the live action film industry for several years, I became obsessed with animation. I initially attended the Academy of Art University but then enrolled in Animation Mentor where I was part of the first graduating class. When I’m not busy animating, you can usually find me surfing waves, shooting pictures or playing some form of music.
