Dave who?

Hi there! My name is Dave Vasquez and I’ve been animating professionally for about 6 years. I got my start in video games working for Maxis/Electronic Arts in 2003 where I animated on several successful titles for the Sims franchise. In April of 2009 I made the switch back to feature films and am now an animator at Rhythm & Hues. Currently, I’m animating on the upcoming Alvin & The Chipmunks: The Squeakquel due to be released on Christmas day.

My interest in filmmaking began at an early age with a Super 8 camera given to me by my parents. After graduating from UCLA Film School and working in the live action film industry for several years, I discovered animation. I initially attended the Academy of Art University and then graduated in the first class of Animation Mentor. When I’m not busy animating, you can usually find me surfing a wave, shooting pictures or playing some form of music.
